Spring 2021 Update
The Rotary Club of Elliot Lake has decided to postpone the 2021 100 Elliot Lakers Who Care! event until the late fall of 2021. We have all had a year filled with uncertainty, and not surprisingly, there was not sufficient interest from donors to proceed with a virtual voting event this spring. There is good news, however. After some delays related to the pandemic, Paul Eldon's Kiwanis Basketball Project is proceeding and is anticipated to be complete within the next month or so. The court surface material is in hand, and the City is in the process of preparing the existing courts for installation. We all look forward to seeing and enjoying the refurbished courts when they are ready! Look for further updates later this summer when The Rotary Club of Elliot Lake seeks to relaunch the 2021 100 Elliot Lakers Who Care! project. |
2019 / 2020 Update
As many already know, Paul Eldon's retrofit of the Kiwanis Park Basketball Courts was the successfully funded project for our last 100 Elliot Lakers Who Care! fundraiser held in December of 2019. Understandably, the implementation of the project was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Donor funds are currently being held by The Rotary Club of Elliot Lake until the project can get underway. The City of Elliot Lake has committed to any
further in-kind and monetary support required to realize the project, and Paul has been co-coordinating between the Public Works Department and the court surface vendor to move things along. We can all expect and look forward to seeing the transformation of the basketball courts occur in the Spring/Summer of 2021. |
(Re)Save the Date!
In order to ensure that we don't have a conflict with the Elliot Lake Community Concert, we have changed the Live Voting Event to Tuesday December 3rd at 6:30pm. Please mark your calendars accordingly, and if you are unable to attend, contact imin@elliotlake100.com to be issued a proxy form for your vote. Thanks! |
